Location of the boiler in the boiler room. Equipment for the boiler room. Stages of erection of an extension

The warmth in the house is comfort and comfort, but how difficult is the solution of this issue when the house is located outside the city, where sometimes there is no gas main or centralized water supply. Even if these are all the benefits available, the process itself is laborious and complex. The main role in it is played by the correctly selected and detailed calculated scheme of the boiler house of the private house and the availability of fuel.

Requirements for boiler rooms are set out in SNiP. Depending on the location where the room is located with the heating equipment installed in it, the boiler rooms can be assigned to one of the following types:

  • built-in;
  • separately standing;
  • attached.

The size of the room allocated for the boiler room is chosen based on the type of fuel, the boiler structure.

When the arrangement of a special room for a boiler room is difficult, there is another option - a mini-boiler room. It is placed in a special container, which can be placed in the courtyard of the house. It only remains to connect the mini-boiler room to the communications.

Mini-boiler room in the yard next to the mansion eliminates design work, the erection and arrangement of a separate room, a ventilation device. The container already has everything you need for efficient operation heating system

Not very big popularity of such modules is due to their rather high cost. If there is a prospect to take a place under the boiler room in the basement, you can buy equipment separately. Then the heating system will be much cheaper.

Designing a domestic boiler house

The heating of the house takes a large part of the family budget. Therefore, at the design stage of the system, one should strive for its maximum optimization by performing an accurate calculation of the boiler house scheme for suburban housing. It will be necessary to miscalculate all options for the location of equipment, including a boiler, expansion tank, radiators, as well as accounting for the features of wiring and circulation.

When designing a boiler room, it is necessary to proceed from the requirements normative documents. In the room where the boiler is installed, an additional heating is often installed, since the heat generated by the unit itself is not enough

In a competently designed boiler room diagram, all elements and the pipeline connecting them must be reflected. Standard drawing  includes: boilers, pumps - make-up, network, circulation, recirculation, tanks - condensing and storage, heat exchangers, fans, fuel supply and combustion devices, control panels, heat shields, water deaerator.

Possible variants of schemes

When compiling a typical scheme  The boiler house can be used as a basis for one of two options for heat networks - open and closed type. Installation of an open circuit is less expensive, but is more expensive in the process of operation. The second option is more complicated at the initial stage, but the leakage of the coolant is practically reduced to zero, since the system is hermetically sealed. This scheme is used in most private houses.

Part closed system  includes a boiler that provides hot heat carrier as a heating system, as well as a water heating circuit, a closed hot water supply pipeline. Circulation of the coolant is carried out here by force through a pump. This allows for the installation of pipes, not particularly caring for slopes, to lay them as more convenient.

Requirements for the boiler room

There are 2 types of requirements put forward to the boiler house in a private house - general and specific, depending on the category of fuel used. The requirements of the first type are:

  1. In one room it is allowed to install a maximum of 2 boilers, whatever its area.
  2. When building and finishing the boiler house, it is inadmissible to use materials that do not meet the requirements of fire safety. For the construction of walls it is necessary to use brick or concrete blocks, and in the form of finishing - plaster or tiles. On the floor should be a concrete or metal coating.
  3. Ventilation and chimney must match installed equipment. Special requirements are imposed on ventilation in the case of using equipment operating on gas. In any case, the air in the room must be circulated and updated at least 3 times within 60 minutes.
  4. A mandatory condition is the presence of a window and a door opening outwards. It is possible to have a second door leading to the utility room, but it needs to be done in accordance with the fire safety conditions.

The boiler room area should be calculated based on the characteristics of the equipment to be installed and taking into account additional square meters  for convenient maintenance. There is a number of additional requirements to the premises and equipment of boiler houses, depending on the decision taken regarding the type of fuel.

Equipment for boiler house arrangement

Regardless of the chosen type of fuel, the technological scheme of any boiler house includes approximately the same mandatory elements. The main place in the boiler room is occupied by the boiler. Here the coolant is heated, and then through the pipelines enters the radiators.

If the house has a large area, then a manifold is needed that distributes the coolant between heating devices, united in separate groups. The collector is equipped with a hydro-gun, which is a hollow pipe with nozzles emerging from it. For each circuit, circulating pumps are mounted. It is part of the collector and a safety group that includes a number of sensors, manometers, thermometers.

Heating system with hydraulic distributor. If there is a water gun in the circuit, the coolant temperature at the start of the equipment rises faster. It stabilizes the pressure, temperature, protects against water hammering

The expansion tank is also an integral part of the circuit. Do not do in a private house and without a water heater that provides its occupants hot water. A modern boiler house is necessarily equipped with automation, which controls all the parameters of the system. In any scheme there is a pipeline for supplying a coolant, stop valves, allowing to perform adjustment and adjustment of the heating system.

In the heating system, there are necessarily two interconnected systems-dehumidification and ventilation. They are no less important than boiler equipment. Ventilation provides a good combustion of fuel due to the influx of air. Smoke removal removes flue gases.

What is a smart boiler

To implement the scheme of automation of a private boiler house, you need to invest additional funds. Quite inexpensive will cost a simple thermostatic valve, and programmable systems are many times more expensive. Constant operation of a conventional boiler in one mode entails a large consumption of electricity and money. Therefore, the cost of purchasing the automation unit quickly pays off in the process of operation.

Automation in a private boiler house is a guarantee of the functioning of the heating system with maximum efficiency, which makes it possible to provide comfortable living conditions in the house

Having installed automation, the owner of the house can adjust the heating process according to his needs. Thanks to this, the accounts for consumed energy resources will be reduced by 2 times. Boiler control in automatic mode allows:

  1. Turn off the boiler in case of an unusual situation. Carry out an automatic start or stop of the boiler in the operating mode. Depending on the outside temperature, set the heating temperature.
  2. To operate the heating and water-heating branches of the boiler having 1 combustion chamber.
  3. Adjust the temperature of water or other coolant.
  4. Make adjustments to the circulation or recirculation pumps if the heating in the house is arranged according to closed circuit. In this case, the system can not be operated without automation.

The most important element of the heating system is the thermostat. Its function is to regulate the temperature in a separate room and in the house completely. There are many types of thermostats - from simple mechanical to weather-dependent. The latter is the most technological, profitable, but also very expensive.

The heating control system consists of a temperature controller, an outdoor temperature sensor, an actuator, a coolant temperature sensor, a display for connecting to a control system located externally, a circulating coolant supply pump, user circuits (+)

The price of automation depends on the type of boiler used, on the presence of a warm floor, solar collectors  etc. In order not to spend extra money, you should analyze the features of all schemes, calculate the cost. It is quite difficult to do this on your own, but you can always contact the specialists with this problem.

Gas boiler for your home

Gas is an explosive substance, so the requirements for gas boiler plants are very strict. If a boiler with a capacity of up to 30 kW is sufficient for heating the house, there is no need for a separate room for the boiler house. The boiler can be placed in a well ventilated kitchen on a wall of non-combustible materials, provided that the room volume is at least 15 m ᶾ, the height from floor to ceiling is from 2.5 m, the floor area is from 6 m ².

If there are no walls of non-combustible materials in the kitchen, the boiler is installed on a plastered and insulated surface with a special screen

All requirements for gas boiler rooms are associated with the prevention of the consequences of possible gas leaks. For this purpose, the window area in the room where the gas equipment is installed starts from 0.5 m², and the width of the door is from 0.8 m.

The chimney of such a boiler room should rise above the roof ridge at least 500 cm and have an additional channel for cleaning. Condensate collectors must be installed on the chimney and ventilation.

When the gas enters the boiler, the electronic or piezo ignition is activated. A spark arises and the igniter is ignited from it, and from it the main burner, which heats the coolant to the set temperature. Further, the automation switches off the burner

If the power gas boiler  exceeds 30 kW, then it requires a separate building. The requirements for a stand-alone boiler room are set out in building codes:

  • the foundation of the boiler house must be separate from the foundation of the house;
  • at concrete solution, used in the erection of a building, there must be a certain percentage of sand;
  • under the boiler arrange a separate foundation, raising it above the finishing of the floor by 0.2 m;
  • under the boiler, a substrate of flat slate or tile is required, which extends beyond it by 0.1 m along the entire perimeter;
  • for the descent of the coolant, in the event of an emergency, the boiler room must be equipped with sewerage;
  • within a radius of 0.7 m around the boiler, the space must be free;
  • the interior finish should have a coefficient of fire resistance of 0.75 h.

There are special regulatory requirements for the boiler itself, as it refers not to household appliances, but to the category of complex engineering equipment. Gas boilers, like all the others used in the domestic sector, must have a certificate certifying that they have passed the safety examination. The monitoring services will never give permission to commission a boiler house with a gas boiler if there is no gas alarm in the room.

Boiler room with solid fuel boiler

According to the requirements of building codes, solid fuel boilers are installed only in non-residential premises. If the capacity of the unit is large, it will be necessary to build a stand-alone boiler house. A number of requirements are put forward for a solid fuel boiler:

  • the smallest distance between the furnace door and the wall is from 1.2 to 1.5 m;
  • minimum distance from the side walls of the boiler to the wall made of fireproof material or protected by a special screen - 1 m;
  • the gap between the rear wall of the boiler, which has a rear connection and a wall of combustible material with a protective shield, is 0.5 m;
  • over the boiler room can not be arranged for any additional add-ons;
  • indoors is necessary forced ventilation, located in the lower part in the form of a gap between the door and the floor or a hole in the wall.

If the wall is made of a material that meets the requirements of fire safety, it is allowed to pipe the pipe behind the boiler to it with brackets. To operate the TT with parameters of 1x0.8 m at the base, at least with a minimum of comfort, it is necessary to install it in a room of 2.8x2.5 m. As the dimensions of the unit increase, so does the area of the boiler house.

It is necessary to plan the installation of the solid fuel boiler during the construction phase of the house in order to advance the place for the chimney

If the boiler house looks like an extension, then the correct location for it is a blank wall. The distance to windows and doors in both vertical and horizontal directions should be at least 1 m. When the boiler room is in the basement, basement or first floor, it is necessary to install a door that opens outwards.

Equipment for solid fuel boiler room

A functional and well-designed boiler room diagram with solid fuel boiler should include a number of elements:

  • The heat generator, equipped with appropriate bunkers, fuel chambers, etc.
  • Strapping TT boiler consisting of circulating pump, 3-way valve, safety group.
  • Chimney.
  • Water heater storage for supplying the house with hot water.
  • Automatics - weather-dependent or intra-house.
  • Fire extinguishing system.

As fuel for TT, coal, peat, and firewood are used. The diameter of the chimney in the boiler room with the TT unit should be equal to the section of the boiler's branch pipe. Indoors needed exhaust ventilation, calculated so that for every 8 cm² of its area accounted for 1 kW of boiler power. If the boiler is installed in the basement, this parameter is multiplied by 3.

A steel sheet must be laid around the boiler base. The layer of plaster on the walls must be at least 3 cm thick in thickness. In the chimney itself, which has the same cross-section along the entire length, there are holes for collecting and removing soot. A mandatory attribute is the means to extinguish the fire.

A qualitative solid fuel boiler is able to convert thermal energy  any kind solid fuel. This allows you to save money

For 1 kW of power TT boiler should account for about 0.08 m² of glazing area. The maximum permissible area of the boiler house is 8m². If the furnace is planned to be loaded with coal, then the electrical wiring must be protected from coal dust, it can explode at a certain concentration.

Advantages of the boiler on liquid fuel

Install such a boiler is much easier than a gas or solid fuel analog. You can place it in the house and yard. The main advantage is that there is no need to coordinate and obtain permits. All that is required from the owner of the house is to provide for free access to the car with fuel and regularly refuel the boiler.

If next to country house  the gas main does not pass, it is possible to install a diesel fuel unit in the boiler house. A two-circuit boiler and a house will heat up, and provide residents with warm water

To get 10 kW of power, about 1 liter of diesel fuel is consumed, but the exact flow rate depends on the quality of the fuel. AT middle lane  with a house area of 200 m² on heating season  it will take about 5 thousand liters of fuel. The chimney must be cleaned periodically.

For installation of a diesel boiler an average of 4 m² is required. If supply ventilation is provided by air flow from other premises of the house, then at least 1 kW of boiler power must be a minimum of 30 cmᶾ of air. With external ventilation, this figure is reduced to 8 cmᶾ.

Electric boiler for a private boiler room

Of all the types of boilers used in a private home, the safest is the electric one. It is not necessary to install a separate boiler room under it. When heating the coolant, no combustion products are released, so ventilation is not necessary for it.

Installation of such boilers is simple, they do not create noise during operation, they are easy to care for. Electric boilers have high efficiency, reaching in some cases 99%. The disadvantage is the high requirements to the power of the network, as well as the dependence on its stable operation.

You can place an electric boiler in any corner of the house, if only it would be convenient. It consumes a lot of electricity and most often it is used as an additional source of heat

Connectivity electric boiler perform different schemes: connect it to the radiators, provide for the possibility of installing a cascade in the case where it is necessary to heat a large area. The strapping is performed in two schemes - direct and mixing. In the first case, the temperature is regulated with the help of a burner, and in the second case, using a mixer with a servo drive.

In wooden houses, the most popular heating systems are based on solid fuel boilers. Such a solution has a number of advantages, however, it requires a certain arrangement of the boiler house. Below we will consider what should be the boiler house in a private wooden house  and how to attach it if necessary.

General information

Despite the wide range of fuels, the use of solid fuel boilers remains the most the best option  for countryside, where in most cases there is no gasification. Of course, you can use electricity, but in this case heating will be much more expensive.

True, many people prefer traditional Russian furnaces to boilers. However, this option is suitable only for relatively small houses. If the housing is dimensional and has several floors, then without a boiler can not do.

It should be borne in mind that wooden houses are more demanding for fire safety. Therefore, the arrangement of the boiler house requires a special approach and observance of certain rules, which we will discuss below.

Advice!
  In a wooden house, you can install a combined boiler, which is able to work on different types of fuel.
  This allows you to choose the most optimal mode of its operation, depending on the situation.

Boiler house arrangement

Primary requirements

So, to ensure that the boiler room is safe, it must comply with the requirements of SNiP II-35-76 and other certain normative documents.

Below are the main requirements:

  • Ceiling height is not less than 2.5 m.
  • The floor space should be at least 15 square meters. In this case, it is necessary to provide easy access to the equipment.
  • Finishing the boiler house in a wooden house should be made with non-combustible material with low thermal conductivity.
  • The floor must also be covered with non-flammable materials.
  • From adjacent rooms, the boiler room must be protected by walls with a fire resistance limit of at least 0.75 hours.
  • The ventilation power of the boiler house must provide three changes of air per hour.
  • From the room it is necessary to organize the output directly to the outside.

I must say that not always in a wooden house there is an opportunity to organize a boiler house that meets all the above requirements. In this case, there is one way out - to erect an extension. Below we consider the features of the construction of the extension.

Extension under the boiler room

Adding a boiler house to a wooden house, of course, requires additional costs, however, it provides maximum fire safety. In addition, allows you to save a useful area in the house, which is also important.

Doing an extension is better from non-combustible materials, it can be:

  • Brick;
  • Slagblock;
  • Gas block or foam block, etc.

An excellent option are gas blocks, as they have a number of advantages:

  • They do not weigh much, which makes it possible to save on the foundation;
  • On them affordable price;
  • Have low thermal conductivity;
  • Provide a high speed construction of the building due to its large dimensions, and it is much easier to perform laying with such a block than with a brick.

The instruction for the construction of an extension from gas blocks looks like this:

  • First of all, you need to make a foundation, for example, a shallow, shallow. For this, it is necessary to excavate the pit to a depth of about 40 cm along the size of the building, then fill the bottom with a layer of sand and rubble each 15 cm thick.
      After that, a formwork is installed along the perimeter and reinforced mesh is laid. Then the formwork is poured with concrete with a layer thickness of about 20 cm.
  • After 28 days, i.e. after a set of concrete vintage strength, you need to lay on the surface of the foundation several layers of roofing material  to provide waterproofing.
  • Then, with their own hands, the masonry of blocks is carried out not with cement mortar or with a special mixture. At this stage, it is necessary to check the position of each block with a level, and also use beacons to make the walls even. To connect the extension to the main house, steel fences should be used - pointed pins, for example, from fittings, which are driven into a wooden wall and laid in the seams of the masonry.

In the photo - an example of the reinforcement of gas blocks

  • Every fourth row should be strengthened by reinforcement. For this, two grooves are placed on the end of the row, into which the reinforcement is laid. It should be noted that two rods should not converge in a corner, i.e. The armature at the corners simply bends.
  • Over the door and window openings U-shaped blocks are laid, in which it is necessary to lay the reinforcement and then pour the space with concrete. Thus, reliable jumpers are performed.
  • After the erection of walls, a single-pitched roof is mounted. Its beams can rest on both a wall fixed to the wall. Above the beams, a crate is laid on which the waterproofing is laid and the roofing is mounted.
  • At the end of the work you need to install windows and doors.

Advice!
  In the process of installing the roof, a chimney must be made immediately.
Special attention  it is necessary to give the pipe through the roof, which must be carried out in a special box filled with a heat insulator, for example, with mineral wool.

This concludes the construction of the extension. Now we need to decide what to do with the boiler room in the wooden house. For this, ceramic tiles or refractory plasters can be used.

The roof should be insulated with mineral mats and additionally covered with heat-reflecting material. As for the floor, it can also be laid out with tiles. Preliminarily it is desirable to perform a screed with concrete with the addition of expanded polystyrene, which will allow not only to level, but also to insulate the floor.

In the holes are installed supply and exhaust valves. The latter can have fans that provide forced air exchange in the room.

Here, in fact, and all the information on how to attach the boiler room to the wooden house.

Conclusion

In a wooden house it is rather difficult to equip a boiler house, especially if it was not planned initially. Therefore, the best option is to add an additional room that meets all of the above safety requirements.

From the video in this article you can get additional useful information on the sounded topic.

An important condition for comfort in a private home is heating. A domestic boiler house is the best option for this. There are several main types of generators that are suitable for autonomous heating of houses or cottages. Therefore, it is necessary to think about the construction of the boiler house in advance, while the finishing works of the house will still go.

Boiler house: main types for private properties

The boiler does not have any specific design. In a private house, you can install any boiler house, which the owner himself wishes. No single parameters exist. The size, location and equipment for the boiler room is chosen by the owner himself.

Heating equipment requires strict control. Often it must be installed separately from the main building, since such equipment is dangerous. Therefore, you need to meet certain requirements to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Boiler room, it is also called a furnace or boiler house, can be located outside the house, so it is in it. It can be located in very different places: on the ground floor, in the garage, in the annexe or in the basement. However, best of all, place it at some distance from the suburban building.

Type of boiler house in its location:

  • Built-in boiler room in the house, not having a separate room. All equipment (boiler, pump, boiler) can be disposed in the kitchen or in the hallway. This option is the cheapest, suitable only for a small boiler.
  • Boiler room built in the house, but is in a separate small room
  • Boiler room, which is located in the annex. This option is suitable for equipment that creates a lot of noise.
  • A separate mini-boiler room, located at a distance from the building.

The cheapest option is a boiler room in the kitchen, suitable only for a small boiler. A convenient option for a boiler house for heating is inside the house, but it is located in the room intended for it. The boiler room attached to the room can have a separate door. The most safe is the boiler, which can be built separately from the main dwelling, however it is very difficult and expensive to do this.

The project of a boiler house for a private house: selection criteria

An important stage in the construction of a boiler house intended for a private home is design. The project itself can not be created independently, it must be done by a specially trained designer. He, in turn, must have all the necessary documents.

In the working drawings, all calculations are performed, as well as the selection of the necessary equipment for construction. And all actions and decisions are described in a special note. All these documents will be needed for submission to the relevant authorities.

The complexity of the project depends on the process of reconciliation, which can drag on for several months. If there are no claims, and there is a seal on the documents, then you can start building. When a project is being made, then it is already necessary to choose the type of the boiler house, paying attention to certain criteria.

Criteria, which should pay your attention:

  • Heating mode;
  • Type of energy carrier;
  • Place of installation;
  • Ventilation;
  • Lighting;
  • Size: The height should be approximately 2.5 m, and the volume of the whole room - 15 m cubic.

Examples of boiler rooms can be different: gas, working on solid fuel or electric. The gas boiler is not the safest, the norms and requirements for it are very stringent, because the gas is explosive. The solid-fuel type device is less explosive, but they are installed just outside the house. Some boilers can work even on wood. Such a boiler room is called a stokehold. A properly installed electrician is a security guarantee. You must make a ground connection.

Required boiler equipment for a private house

The most important thing for the boiler house is not only the premises, but also its equipment. If you select the right equipment, you can get excellent functionality and quality of heating.

The boiler house is a place where it should not only be convenient and neat, but also safe. It is necessary to install all devices, observing all safety rules. It must be finished only with high-strength materials.

One boiler, of course, can not cope with the main task, namely it will not be able to heat the whole house. To help him, you need to purchase additional equipment, which install specialists. It is possible to equip the boiler house with your own hands, but this process requires special skills and knowledge. Therefore, the arrangement of the boiler room is best entrusted to the masters of this case.

Equipment for the boiler room:

  • Boiler heating;
  • Expansion tank;
  • Heat accumulator;
  • Boiler;
  • Distribution manifold;
  • Pump;
  • Stop valves;
  • Pipes;
  • Automation;
  • Chimney.

By purchasing all the elements, you can attach them yourself or hire a specialized master. Boilers can be attached to the wall at a distance of 10cm or simply placed on the floor. If the boiler is installed on the floor, then a foundation is necessary. Ceiling, floor and walls are best finished with heat-resistant materials. All parts are set manually.

Furnishing of a boiler house in a private house: photos and materials

Finishing the boiler is a very important stage of construction. To equip and finish the room you need very competently - this is the key to your safety. To make everything right and at the same time beautiful, you need to fulfill all the requirements and adhere to the norms.

Before you start decorating the room, first, you need to determine what material you will use for this purpose? There are a lot of materials for this, but the most alternative is tile.

Having looked at different photos of individual options, by finishing the boiler houses, you need to decide on a choice or create your own design of the room and implement it.

Non-combustible materials for finishing:

  • Ceramic tile. For wall finishing - this is the ideal solution.
  • Porcelain tiles. They are usually floored by the floor of the boiler room, since it is capable of withstanding heavy loads.
  • Xylolite-fibrous sheet. It is environmentally friendly material, capable of withstanding very high temperatures (1000 degrees).
  • Fire-resistant and heat-resistant plaster. It can withstand an open flame for several minutes. It, just as you can paint in different colors and yet it will not lose its fire-resistant ability.

The interior decoration of the boiler room can be made of inexpensive materials, but they must meet all the requirements. The price of some of them may even be very modest. The main thing for the boiler-house is not its decoration, but equipment. That's it, and you need to spend your savings to feel safe.

The boiler house in a private house: some requirements

For heating a country house  need a boiler room. The arrangement of such a room requires an absolutely competent approach. It is this device that creates the comfort and comfort of your home, as well as its security. Therefore, you should approach it with special attention.

You can not save on some materials, especially equipment. Installation of the boiler and some additional equipment is best entrusted to professionals. They competently and qualitatively will do their work, with all permissible norms.

The most important for this process is the interior decoration of the room. It must be so refractory that it can withstand an open flame for about 25 minutes. There are also some specific nuances that must be foreseen in advance, regardless of where your boiler room will be located.

Requirements for the boiler room:

  • Calculate the boiler output, taking into account the area of the room;
  • The equipment is best purchased in advance;
  • Choose the right size door, always fireproof;
  • All dimensions of the boiler house must comply with special standards;
  • Give preference to the finishing material - tiles.

Before the start of construction of the hotel room of the boiler house, a plan is made, which must be coordinated with the gas service. Then, of course, this object must be added to the technological plan of the entire site.

Boiler house equipment in a private house (video)

Modern projects of private country houses imply the presence of such a premise as a boiler room, where all heating equipment will be located for the whole area of the house. Such a boiler room can operate on different energy carriers. Usually it is natural gas, which comes from the main backbone network. If, nevertheless, there is no gas, then boilers operating on solid or diesel fuel, electricity can be used. However, the most popular and not expensive fuel, nevertheless, is gas.

When building your own house, we scrupulously plan the layout and interior of each room: a living room, a kitchen, a nursery, a bedroom, a study, a bathroom. What else? It seems that nothing is forgotten. A boiler house - in a private house without it can not do. Yes, there is no place for a master's fantasy - everything is strictly regulated. No one expects special "beauties" from this room. But all the same to think over the details of his arrangement is necessary. Otherwise, you can easily "shove" very impressive fines or even worse - to provoke a fire.

Choose the type and power of equipment

The necessary dimensions of the boiler house in a private house depend directly on the boiler's capacity and the fuel used. In some cases, the rules allow you to install the boiler in the kitchen or other non-living room. Let's look at the main types of fuel and the requirements for the installation of equipment operating on them.

Gas boilers: convenient, inexpensive, functionally

The most common type of heating equipment are gas boilers. Such popularity is explained not only by the convenience of their operation, but also by the relatively low price of this energy carrier. At the same time, the explosion hazard natural gas  forces the relevant services to impose fairly strict requirements on the equipment running on it.

The use of a gas boiler with a capacity of up to 30 kW makes the installation of a boiler house in a private house completely unnecessary. The rules allow you to install such an assembly in the kitchen. But only in the case when this room corresponds to a number of very strict norms:

  • The minimum area of the kitchen is 15 m 2;
  • The glazing area of the window should not be less than about 3 m 2 per 1 m 3 of room volume;
  • Presence of window;
  • The minimum ceiling height in the kitchen is 2.2 m;
  • Passages between pieces of furniture, walls and equipment with a width of at least 0.7 m;
  • Air intake opening in the lower part of the door or in the wall above the floor, providing a sufficient flow of air sufficient for combustion and ventilation;
  • The minimum fire resistance of the walls of the room is about 75 hours.

Besides, boilers  It can be installed only on walls made of flame-resistant, or even better - non-combustible materials. The floor equipment must be on a non-combustible substrate, which will support its dimensions at least 10 cm from each side.

Gas boiler up to 30 kW can be installed in the kitchen

In houses with walls made of combustible materials, the installation of gas equipment is also possible. In this case, SNiPs provide for the installation of protective screens that will protrude beyond the dimensions of the boiler 10 cm from below, to the left and to the right and 80 cm from the top. The boiler itself should be installed no closer than 10 cm from the shielded wall.

Boilers, with a capacity of 30 to 200 kW, must be installed in a separate room. Such a boiler room can be located in the basement of a private house or on any of its floors. For basement or basement, in addition to general requirements, there are separate standards:

  • Presence of natural illumination;
  • Ventilation system that provides a three-fold update of the entire air volume for an hour;
  • Exit to the street;
  • Ceiling height from 2,5 m;
  • Room volume from 15 m 3;

And still it is better to take the boiler house to a separate building, if, of course, the plot area allows. Such an arrangement gas equipment  not only safer, but also save you from unnecessary noise generated by heating and water heating appliances. And the area of the house can be saved.

A stand-alone boiler house for a country house should comply with the following standards:

  • The building must have a foundation;
  • It must be built separately from the foundation of the house (without adjoining);
  • Under the boiler there must be a separate foundation, which must be laid after the foundation of the building has been poured;
  • The boiler should be installed above the floor level by 15-20 cm;
  • The floor is poured with cement mortar with the obligatory sand content;

The walls and roof are made of non-combustible materials.

The boiler should be installed 15-20 cm above the floor level

Internal furnish of a boiler house in a private house, both internal and separately standing, should be made using ceramic tiles  or other non-flammable material. From time to time, you may need to reset the coolant from the system. To do this, the boiler house must be diverted to the sewer network.

And the last thing before you start building, be sure to agree on a boiler house project for a private house with authorized employees of the gas service.

Requirements for solid fuel boiler installation

Since a solid fuel boiler (operating on wood or pellets) does not belong to the category of explosive equipment, the requirements for its placement are significantly less:

  • Install the boiler in an easily accessible place, because you will have to regularly load fuel.
  • The distance to the walls should be at least 10 cm.
  • Flammable walls need to be sheathed with sheet steel about 3 mm thick with an asbestos substrate.
  • On the floor in front of the furnace it is necessary to lay a steel sheet with a width of 60 cm.

The floor in the boiler room is best made with concrete or with non-flammable material.

The solid fuel boiler should be easily accessible for regular fuel loading

Of great importance is the properly organized ventilation of the boiler house in a private house heated by coal or wood:

  • The window size is 8 cm² per 1 kW of boiler power;
  • The section of the chimney of the boiler must not be larger than the section of the chimney;
  • It is necessary to provide a special hole for checking the condition and cleaning of the chimney. It should be located 25-30 cm below the inlet;
  • The chimney shaft must have the same cross-sectional area along its entire length. In addition, the fewer knees and turns it has, the better;
  • To improve gas tightness, the inner surface of the chimney is better plastered. If its diameter is small, an asbestos-cement pipe can be inserted into the shaft;
  • There must also be a water supply and sewage system;
  • When using firewood or coal, the area of the boiler house in a private house is not less than 8 m 2.

Boilers operating on coal must be equipped with concealed wiring  and special hermetic lighting devices. Such precautions are associated with the explosion of coal dust.
