Instructions for installing sockets in drywall
Drywall works include several stages, the last of which is finishing. But, as practice shows, there is another important stage before the final application of the finishing material, although it is not the most difficult. This is the installation of sockets in drywall. For many experienced craftsmen, this process is so simple that it is usually done by their students. But we will not simplify this electrical installation operation, it requires accuracy, care and the fulfillment of some requirements related to the safe operation of electrical networks.
Cable preparation
It is necessary to take into account on which structure the installation will be carried out, before installing the socket in drywall, it is necessary to take into account on which structure it will be mounted.
- On a leveled wall.
- Inside a plasterboard partition.
In this case, all wiring will be carried out as hidden. That is, strobes are made in the body of a concrete or brick wall, where an electric cable is laid. Its ends are displayed at a certain level in the necessary places. After that, the grooves are plastered.
In this case, the strobes must have a vertical and horizontal direction. Vertical channels are made anywhere on the wall, horizontal channels near the floor or under the ceiling at a distance of 10-15 cm from the designated surfaces. Please note that it will be necessary to take into account the exit point of the wire ends. It is important here that they do not fall under the metal direct suspension.

The algorithm for the work being done to install sockets in drywall is as follows:
When installing wires, pay attention to the cable laying contour. It is very important that it does not pass near the installed screws. Therefore, it is better to either change the place of the gasket, or remove the tip of the fastener with pliers.
And the last stage is the lining of the partition. At the same time, it is better to apply a scheme for laying an electric cable on the gypsum boards themselves. This will simplify the installation of the socket in drywall with your own hands.
Installing a socket in drywall
So, everything is ready, you can go directly to the installation of the outlet. To do this, in the GCR, you need to make a hole for the socket. You will need a drill with a crown, the diameter of which should match the diameter of the socket. Knowing the location of the ends of the wire, a mark (dot or cross) is applied exactly at this place, which will be the center of the hole.
After that, the socket is installed. This is a socket for the outlet itself, made of plastic. There are four fasteners in its design: two for fastening the socket, two for the outer fastening strip.
Please note that the bottom of the socket does not have a hole where you can pull out the ends of the wiring. Therefore, it must be done, for example, with a drill or a screwdriver. We insert the end of the cable here, pull it to the maximum.
And one moment. The thickness of the socket is 4.5 cm, so if the gap between the base wall and the drywall structure is less than this indicator, then you will first have to make a recess on the wall.
The socket box is now evenly inserted into the drywall and aligned in the plane of the GCR sheet. Then, with two screws for fastening, it is necessary to fix the box.
Mounting the socket in the socket
Before installing the socket in the socket, it is necessary to disassemble it. That is, the decorative panel is removed, the clamping (terminal) screws are loosened. After that, the ends of the electrical wire are inserted into the terminals, and here they are clamped with screws. Now you can install the outlet itself.
There are many ways to put an outlet in drywall - it all depends on its design.

- Mounting screws in the socket.
If the device is installed and fixed, you must begin to mount the metal bar, which will ensure that the outlet is securely fastened to the drywall. It remains only to install a decorative panel.
