Cheese circles. How long to fry cheese balls? Cheese balls. Recipe with a surprise

Cheese balls are very simple in terms of preparation technology, affordable in products and wonderful in taste. They can be served with or without sauce, as an appetizer for intoxicating drinks, or simply as a hearty side dish. This dish, like any deep-fried product, is not made for future use. You should eat the balls immediately after frying, because as they cool, the taste will become noticeably worse. Thus, we calculate the amount of food for one meal and start cooking. We offer two recipes to choose from - with regular hard cheese and melted mozzarella.

Cheese balls made from hard cheese recipe

This type of cheese balls is prepared using a simple dough - a mixture of egg whites, cheese and a small amount of flour. The appetizer turns out to be very appetizing - a delicate melted cheese mass is hidden under the beautiful browned crust. This is a great dish for lovers of express cooking - fast, simple and tasty! There are different types of cheese that are suitable here. The main thing is that it melts well, then the filling will be perfectly viscous when hot.

Ingredients:

  • hard or semi-hard cheese (Russian, Gouda, etc.) - 130 g;
  • flour - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • egg whites - 2 pcs.;
  • salt - a pinch.

For breading:

  • flour - about 1/3 cup.

For deep frying:

  • vegetable oil (refined).

How to make deep-fried cheese balls

  1. Three small shavings of cheese.
  2. Carefully separate the whites from the yolks, add a pinch of salt and work with a mixer until a strong, stable mass is obtained. To ensure that the protein mixture is safely whipped to the desired consistency, before starting work, we check the dishes for cleanliness and dryness. Remains of fat, any contaminants, as well as admixtures of yolks or excess moisture can disrupt the process, and then it will be difficult, and sometimes impossible, to bring the whites to the desired state. A properly whipped mixture becomes noticeably denser and does not run off or move when the work bowl is turned over.
  3. Add shavings of cheese to fluffy whipped whites. Next add 2 tablespoons of sifted flour.
  4. Mix the protein and cheese mixture. We get a soft and sticky dough. If the mixture spreads and does not hold its shape at all, you can add flour, but just a little - there is no need to oversaturate and weigh down the cheese dough with flour.
  5. Sift flour onto a kitchen board for further breading. With palms moistened in water, pinch off pieces the size of a walnut or even a little smaller from the cheese mass, roll into balls and place on a flour layer. You will get approximately 10-15 blanks.
  6. Dip the balls thickly in flour, covering all sides with a white coating. Shake off excess flour so that it does not burn in the hot oil.
  7. In a small, thick-bottomed saucepan, heat the vegetable oil (only refined oil is suitable for deep-frying). It is important that it is warm enough before dipping the balls. You can check by throwing a small piece of cheese dough into the pan - if there are no signs of boiling, then the deep fat is still cold. The amount of oil depends on the size of the dish - it is necessary that the balls are completely immersed in oil. Load the balls into the heated fryer - cook in small batches, about 3 pieces at a time. We lower the products on a slotted spoon so that they do not touch the bottom (otherwise the resulting crust may burst and the cheese will flow out). Keep the balls in the sizzling oil until browned on all sides. Do not forget to constantly stir the products, not allowing them to stick together and touch the bottom.
  8. We catch the browned cheese balls with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a plate covered with napkins - the paper will help remove excess fat. At the same time, we are preparing the next batch.
  9. Let's start tasting before the cheese balls have time to cool completely. You can supplement the appetizer with spicy ketchup or prepare it in advance (for example, as in the shawarma recipe).

Cheese balls with mozzarella recipe with photo

Fried mozzarella has long established itself as a tasty and versatile snack. Thanks to its properties, this cheese melts perfectly and turns out to be very tender and deliciously stretchy. These cheese balls are very easy to prepare, because you don’t even have to knead the dough - the mozzarella pieces are completely breaded in breadcrumbs and deep-fried until ready. The only point to take into account here is that mozzarella itself is almost bland. Therefore, we recommend that lovers of spicy and salty snacks take care of the sauce in advance.

Ingredients:

  • mini mozerella (in balls) - 100 g;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • milk - 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • salt, pepper - to taste;
  • flour - about 30 g;
  • breadcrumbs - about 50 g;
  • vegetable oil (for deep frying).

How to make mozzarella cheese balls

  1. Place the mozzarella balls in a colander - the whey should drain completely. To help the cheese melt better during frying, take the mozzarella out of the refrigerator in advance and let it warm up to room temperature. If you get the mozzarella not in balls, but in one whole piece, you can cut it into large cubes and cook it that way.
  2. Mix the egg with milk, add a pinch or two of salt and ground pepper. Shake the mixture with a fork, trying to bring it homogeneous. Distribute the sifted flour and breadcrumbs into different plates (the latter can be replaced with a loaf of bread, removing the crusts and grinding it into crumbs in a blender bowl).
  3. Blot the mozzarella balls with a paper towel to remove any remaining moisture. Then dip into flour one by one and roll on all sides.
  4. We “bathe” the flour-coated ball in the milk-egg mixture.
  5. Next, generously coat in breadcrumbs. Then again dip into the liquid egg mixture and roll in breadcrumbs again. This double breading is necessary so that the cheese does not leak out during deep frying.
  6. As in the previous recipe, thoroughly heat the oil and fry the balls until golden brown. If the oil is well heated, the products will cook quickly, in about 20-40 seconds. Don't forget that you need to deep-fry in small portions, otherwise the temperature of the oil will drop sharply.
  7. We take out the finished balls with a slotted spoon and place them on a dish covered with napkins. Let's start eating right away. Cheese balls with mozzarella are ready!

What ingredients will be needed?

The main ingredient is known and it is listed in the name. But what is the best cheese to use? Most recipes indicate hard, and any of its varieties are quite suitable: both light creamy and spicy, piquant. But you can experiment and use processed or smoked sausage cheese, and such a replacement will make the consistency and taste of the dish completely different.

As for the remaining ingredients, they depend on the specific recipe, as well as on your personal preferences. Some people like salty snacks that go perfectly with beer and other drinks, while others prefer savory and spicy dishes.

Cooking options

How to make cheese balls? There are many options, the most interesting ones are discussed below.

Option one

These are classic cheese balls to go with beer. To prepare them you will need:

  • 300-350 grams of hard cheese;
  • four tablespoons of wheat flour;
  • two or three eggs;
  • salt.

Process description:

  1. First, grate the cheese, preferably on a fine or at least medium grater.
  2. Now add eggs and flour to the shredded cheese (leave a little for coating), mix everything thoroughly. It is best to use your own hand to mix, as a blender or mixer is unlikely to cope with this task.
  3. Form balls from the resulting homogeneous cheese mass, roll each one in flour.
  4. Next, heat a sufficient amount of oil in a frying pan.
  5. Fry the balls for a few minutes until they get a nice golden crust.

Option two

You can make savory balls of cheese with garlic and herbs. You will need:

  • three processed cheese or 300 g of smoked sausage cheese (it is best to use “Amber”);
  • two eggs;
  • 100 ml mayonnaise;
  • two or three cloves of garlic;
  • a large bunch of dill.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. The first step is to hard-boil chicken eggs. Next, peel them and grate them on a medium grater.
  2. Also grate the cheese, mix with grated eggs, add mayonnaise and pre-peeled garlic, chopped in any way, to the mixture.
  3. You should get an elastic, homogeneous mass. Start forming balls out of it (if the composition sticks to your hands, you can moisten them with cold water).
  4. Wash the greens, dry them and chop them finely with a knife.
  5. Dip the finished balls in chopped dill and serve.

Option three

You can prepare a light appetizer for the festive table - delicious cheese balls with crab sticks. Here's what you'll need:

  • about 200 grams of any hard cheese;
  • one small processed cheese;
  • two eggs;
  • garlic to taste;
  • seven to eight tablespoons of mayonnaise;
  • a pack of crab sticks (100-150 grams).

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Grate the hard cheese and the melted cheese on a grater.
  2. Boil the eggs and grate them too.
  3. Peel the garlic and chop it in any convenient way.
  4. Crab sticks can either be grated like the other ingredients, or finely chopped with a knife or chopped in a blender.
  5. Now mix two types of cheese, chopped crab sticks, eggs and garlic, add mayonnaise.
  6. You should have a homogeneous mass from which you need to form balls. They can be decorated with greenery if desired.

Option four

Cheese balls go perfectly with creamy sauce! To prepare this delicious appetizer, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 300 grams of hard cheese;
  • three chicken eggs;
  • three cloves of garlic;
  • five tablespoons of wheat flour.

To prepare the sauce:

  • a glass of medium fat cream;
  • two tablespoons of flour;
  • about 10 g butter.

Instructions:

  1. Tackle the balls first. Grate the cheese, add eggs, flour and chopped garlic in any way. From the resulting homogeneous and dense mass you need to form balls.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry your balls in it. After heat treatment, they should acquire an appetizing golden brown color.
  3. Now you can move on to the sauce. Take a clean frying pan and fry the flour in it for just a few minutes (the bottom should be dry). Next, add the butter, melt it and fry the mixture for a couple of minutes. Then pour in the cream and cook the sauce over low heat, stirring constantly. The duration of the cooking process will depend on the desired thickness (the longer you cook the sauce, the richer and thicker it will be).
  4. Serve the balls on a platter and place a container of creamy sauce next to it.

Option five

If you want something unusual, make cheese balls filled with ham in the oven. To do this, prepare:

  • 200 g hard cheese;
  • about a glass of wheat flour;
  • 150 grams of ham or boiled sausage (in principle, any other meat product will do);
  • a stick of butter;
  • egg;
  • one clove of garlic.

Description of preparation:

  1. First, grate the hard cheese on a grater, preferably the finest one.
  2. Soften the butter, mix it with the egg and flour, add the chopped cheese, and start kneading the dough. It should become elastic and dense, so add a little flour if necessary.
  3. Cut the ham into small pieces.
  4. Separate a small portion of the cheese dough, form it into a flatbread, place a piece of ham in the center, fold the edges and roll into a ball. Make the rest of the balls in the same way.
  5. Cover a baking sheet with parchment, grease it with oil, place the balls on it so that they do not touch each other.
  6. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180-190 degrees for literally fifteen or twenty minutes.

Finally, a few useful tips that will make the snack even more delicious:

  • It is best to grate the cheese on a fine grater, in which case the consistency will be more uniform and tender.
  • Serve the balls hot; they are not as tasty when cold.
  • The ideal serving option is balls laid out on a large plate, platter or tray. In this case, guests will be able to take them with a fork.
  • If the recipe involves heat treatment, then frying in a frying pan in oil can be replaced by deep-frying. In this case, the duration of the process will be reduced to one or two minutes, but it is important to bring the oil to a boil in advance so that a crispy crust appears.
  • Filled cheese balls are very tasty and unusual. And you can use different ingredients as it, for example, fried mushrooms, red sea fish, and so on.
  • Other components can be added to the cheese mass. For example, if frying is not required, use fresh herbs or chopped lightly salted salmon.
  • Roll the balls not in flour, but in breadcrumbs, then they will turn out more crispy.

Please your household or guests with such an appetizing and interesting snack as cheese balls, it will be appreciated!

These are simple fried cheese balls, without any extra additives. But that doesn't make them any less tasty. They are not difficult to prepare, there are only a few nuances that must be observed so that they are fluffy and round, otherwise the recipe is very simple.

Products:

  • Russian cheese (200 g), can be replaced with any semi-hard cheese
  • chicken eggs (2 pcs.), we only need whites
  • flour (2 tsp), incomplete
  • flour or breadcrumbs (to coat the balls)
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

Fried cheese balls simple recipe with photos step by step

1) Separate the whites from the yolks:

2) Lightly salt the whites (just a little) and beat them into a strong foam. The foam should be dense and stable, a little softer than for meringue. The appearance of the balls greatly depends on this. If the foam is not whipped well, they may fall off and take the form of cakes.

Continuing to beat, carefully add 2 teaspoons of flour.

3) Grate the cheese on a fine grater. If you like garlic, add a chopped clove and stir:

4) Very carefully, carefully combine the grated cheese with the whipped whites so that as few bubbles burst as possible.

5) Form small balls from the resulting mixture:

6) Roll the balls in flour or breadcrumbs. If you notice that the breading is burning, you can try without it at all.

7) Fry on both sides in well-heated vegetable oil (do not skimp on the oil) until slightly golden brown over fairly high heat. The balls should increase in volume.

8) Place the finished balls on a paper towel to remove excess fat. Serve hot. The balloons are airy and half empty inside. This snack goes well with beer.

Bon appetit!
